Stockton, California Mayor Michael Tubbs announced his support of Democratic Presidential candidate Mike Bloomberg today, praising Mike’s work with cities and his track record on tackling challenges including gun violence, education and climate change. Mayor Tubbs was also named a national co-chair, the latest to join the Bloomberg campaign. Mayor Tubbs will advise the Bloomberg campaign on strategy, policy, messaging and serve as a surrogate.
Democratic presidential candidate Mike Bloomberg traveled to California today to unveil two new proposals designed to help address affordability and create economic opportunity for all Americans. The proposals, which were released following a roundtable discussion in Stockton, CA hosted by Mayor Michael Tubbs, and featuring Stockton community members, builds on Mike’s record as Mayor of New York City, where he pioneered programs that helped more New Yorkers gain access to housing and economic security.
I ask that regardless of what you hear out of Washington, you should know that the American people support our Paris goals. We continue to work to meet them. We’re making encouraging progress. We’re looking forward to this November’s election and a new president in 2020. We have to have America as part of the solution, and I’m determined to try to make that happen. Today, Mike Bloomberg 2020 announced that San Jose Mayor Sam Liccardo will serve as California co-chair of the campaign. Liccardo will advise the Bloomberg campaign on strategy, policy, and serve as a surrogate. Additional California co-chairs will be announced in the coming weeks.
